Private Yoga & Ballet Instruction

I began my dance studies in my hometown of Mathews, Virginia, continued my professional training in Williamsburg, Virginia as a company member of Contemporary Ballet Theatre under Sandra Balestracci, and deepened my Vaganova and Character Dance studies at the Mansur Kamaletdinov School of Ballet. Sharing my love for dance was a natural progression, and I began teaching ballet classes while in high school. After several years of travel and exploration, I returned to my hometown, resumed teaching dance, and choreographed numerous classical and contemporary works for The Bayside Youth Ballet. I moved to Richmond in 2004 where I have been teaching ballet and conditioning for dancers ever since.

A longtime yoga practitioner and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga devotee, I completed my initial teacher training at Charlottesville Yoga School. I completed Cyndi Lee’s Advanced Om Yoga Teacher Training in 2016, where in addition to refining my Vinyasa teaching techniques, I was qualified in Meditation, Pranayama, and Restorative Yoga. I have created and led 200-hour yoga teacher trainings as well as a successful mentorship program. My approach is holistic and finely tuned to the needs of the individual, as yoga is not a one-size-fits-all practice. When approached with attention to the physical and energetic connection between body and breath, everyone can access the transformational benefits of yoga.

Why Private Yoga?

An effective yoga practice is a personalized path which supports the growth and evolution of the individual. Your journey is unique to your preference, experience, and lifestyle. A skilled instructor may lead a group class to a certain level of effectiveness, but ‘universal alignment’ is rarely applicable and the same instruction, modification, or technique will not translate to all bodies and minds. The safest and most effective way to deepen your practice is to build a relationship of trust with an experienced teacher who is willing to dedicate their energy to you and your specific needs. Through private sessions, we can:

  • Examine alignment and movement patterns which may be causing injury or impeding progress in your daily practice
  • Prepare the beginning student to enter group classes or build a personal home practice with confidence and a clear understanding of the basics
  • Assist the seasoned practitioner in developing mastery over advanced yoga postures and transitions
  • Establish a comfortable and realistic daily meditation practice
  • Create a plan which supports reaching overall healthy lifestyle goals
  • Modify or work-around significant physical limitations or emotional triggers
  • Dive deeper into yoga philosophy, mantra, and explore fundamental texts

Prices for private yoga instruction are as follows:

  • 60 minutes – $80
  • 75 minutes – $90
  • 90 minutes – $100

Private Ballet Instruction

Whether you are an adult starter, re-starter, or aspiring young dancer, nothing amplifies your rate of progress quite like personalized instruction. I currently teach all levels of private ballet, pointe, and conditioning for dancers at Regency Dance Academy in Henrico County, online via Zoom, or in your home. Prices may vary depending on your choice of venue, as I must consider studio rental fees. Zoom classes are always discounted.

Packages are available at a 20% reduced rate. For example, committing to an 8 class package of 60 minute sessions will total $510.00, reducing the per class rate significantly. Ask about my sliding scale!

If you are interested in semi-private or group instruction in your home, workplace, or other establishment, please contact me to discuss the details. I have customized and led classes in corporate environments, birthday events, family gatherings, etc.
